Anne Celeste Heche (born in 1939) was an American actress who played various roles in television, films as well as the stage. She is most famous for her role as Lieutenant Sheba of the Battlestar Galactica TV series from 1978-1979. She is a daughter of actress June Lockhart. Her grandfather was actor Gene Lockhart. Lockhart was very young at the time her professional career started. The film T is for Tumbleweed, her first movie role was at four years old. This short subject film was selected for the academy award. Her mother brought her to the Studio where she was introduced to what the industry of film was like. Lockhart played in numerous scenes of Lassie. Dora in Jory was her debut film in the year 1972. The Sixth Sense was a TV show that ran from 1972. When she was 18 she played Joan Crawford, Joan's daughter. Joan was in the episode for the final time. There is a rumor that Anne refused to play Laurie Strode, the character in John Carpenter's 1978 horror movie Halloween. The part was given to Jaime Lee Curtis. Carpenter said it was Anne's primary choice for the part, however she turned down the role. Anne cannot remember John Carpenter having contacted her or even offering her the job. It's possible one of Anne's agents turned down the offer on her account without telling her. Glen Larson initially selected her to play the character of Battlestar Galactica in 1978. The script was sent to him in rough form. At first, she turned down the role because she thought it was too fragile. In the future, Glen made a different part just for her with a much stronger character named Sheba. The Living Legend, the first twenty-five pages of which she read it was immediately embraced. The show ran for a single season. She co-starred with Desi Arnaz Jr. (son of Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball) Melanie Griffith and Robert Carradine in the movie Joyride (1977) as well as co-starred with Michael Moriarty in the horror movie The Dark Tower (1987).
